Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today it is likely motorists will have to wait for two weeks before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 4 May 2022), the average price of regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 26 cents per litre (cpl) to 188.9 cpl. Puma hiking by up to 44.2 cpl up to 203.7 cpl; Caltex Woolworths, Ampol and BP up to 199.9 cpl; Vibe up to 199.7 cpl; Coles Express up to 195.9 cpl; and 7-Eleven up to 189.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 39 individual sites offering prices below 160 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 48 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $28 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 157.9 cpl at Coles Express Forrestfield, Coles Express Middle Swan and Coles Express Upper Swan Roadhouse in the East;
  • 156.7 cpl at Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 157.9 cpl at Coles Express Armadale, Coles Express Beeliar, Coles Express Brookdale, Coles Express Kwinana Beach, Coles Express Langford, Coles Express Myaree, Coles Express Palmyra, Coles Express Southern River, Coles Express Waikiki and Coles Express Westfield in the South; and
  • 157.1 cpl at United Osborne Park in the North.
