Wageline has updated the minimum rates for award-free employees and the pay rates in Wageline’s WA Award Summaries.

The new wage rates apply from the first pay period or after 1 July 2016. The state minimum wage for adult award-free employees will increase by $13 to $692.90 per week.  Adult pay rates under state awards will also increase by $13. Junior rates will increase proportionately. 

Until 1 July, both the current (pre 1 July 2016) WA award summaries and minimum rates and new (post 1 July) WA award summaries and rates will be available on this website.  After 1 July, the old rates will be removed.

This year, Wageline’s WA Award summaries have a new look and format. The updated and enhanced award summaries will continue to provide employers and employees with a snapshot of pay rates and key employment conditions in the relevant state award, as well as critical information for employers on obligations on other state employment laws such as long service leave and employment of children.

From 1 July Wageline will maintain 35 WA Award Summaries which will cover a broad range of industries and occupations in the state industrial relations system. Full copies of all state awards will remain available on the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission website.  

Please note this information applies to employers and employees in the state industrial relations system only. It covers businesses which operate as:

• sole traders (eg Jane Smith trading as Jane’s Cafe)
• partnerships (eg Jane and Bob Smith trading as Jane’s Cafe)
• unincorporated trust arrangements (Jane and Bob Smith as trustees for Jane’s Cafe)

This information does not cover businesses and organisations in the national system which operate as:

• Pty Ltd businesses that are trading or financial corporations (eg Smith Pty Ltd trading as Jane’s Cafe)
• incorporated associations and other not-for-profit bodies (that are trading or financial corporations)
